30 Things in 30 Days: Day 5

5. What are the 5 things that make you most happy right now?

1. Addie. She is my sunshine, my best friend, and the light of my life.
2. Zac. He makes being a mom so fun because he's equally there being a dad.
3. My team. Teaching wouldn't be nearly as fulfilling if it weren't for the five people I get to work with every day.
4. Baby 2 for being so healthy and perfect.
5. Spring. I hate cold weather and I'm so happy beautiful weather is coming!

30 Things in 30 Days; Day 4

4. List 10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self, if you could.

1. You're such a good tennis player. Don't give up and get that scholarship you deserve!
2. Don't speed! 3 tickets at the age of 16 isn't cute.
3. Be kind.
4. You are smart and you deserve to be in AP classes. Don't sell yourself short, and don't you dare drop them because you want an easier year.
5. You are not a taxi. Period.
6. Thank your parents for everything they do for you.
7. Be a good role model for your sister. She watches your every move.
8. Tanning is bad!!!!!!!!!!
9. Be a good girlfriend, but don't be clingy.
10. Don't switch schools. Hold your head up high and don't let false rumors get the best of you.

30 Things in 30 Days: Day 3

3. Describe your relationship with your spouse.

Zac and I have such a great relationship! We met in February 2004 and instantly fell in love, although we didn't make it official until my birthday, March 29. The beginning days were full of HDTV (haha, it was so new back then!), Chappelle's Show, CSI, and video games. Tons of new restaurants and old, lots of exploring, and driving around in his super cool Z06. As the years went on, our lives didn't change too much. Just our taste in TV. :) We're such homebodies and love to watch "our shows." That's seriously the best date night for us! After adding kitties, and Goose, and Addie, our relationship just got better. We're still able to keep time just for the two of us. Just two weeks ago, we had a date day starting at Baby Earth (I can't keep away!), then sushi, Dr. Pepper ICEEs, and movie theater popcorn for coming home to finally watch Skyfall. We complement each other. He is the best friend, husband, and daddy anybody could ask for!

30 Things in 30 Days; Day 2

Day 2: Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.

1. Failure: My entire life I've been good at everything I do, and usually without trying too hard. This can make me feel really guilty, but it does make life easier. It sounds bad to type out, but it is what it is. I'm so afraid of life catching up with me and of losing everything I have. My family, my job, my credibility. Just, failing at life. I don't handle doing things badly, so I try to do everything right. It's scary to think that one bad decision could lead me to failure. I'm sure there are some homeless people who never thought they'd end up the way they did!

2. World Ending: I think I watch too many movies and read too many books. My favorite genre is anything having to do with the world ending whether by zombies, natural disasters, or disease. It terrifies me to think that the world may end, not because I would live to see it, but because my children and grandchildren might not.

3. Paralysis: Years ago I watched a movie, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, a memoir based on the life of a famous magazine editor, Jean-Dominique Bauby. He suffered a massive stroke at the age of 43, that left him with locked-in syndrome, total and complete paralysis except for the ability to see and blink. The worst part was that his mind was completely normal and functioning, but he couldn't move a muscle. I'm so terrified of something similar happening to me and it would come without warning!

30 Things in 30 Days: Day 1

1. List 20 Random Facts About Yourself

1. My favorite movie is Snatch.
2. I failed a quiz in sixth grade science on purpose, just so I wouldn't have to dissect a cow eye. (Don't worry; I offered to write a paper on how dolphins and bats use sonar for extra credit so I could still get an A!)
3. My favorite color is cerulean. Well, today it is. It changes daily, but that's my favorite to say out loud.
4. If I could eat one food for the rest of my life it would be spaghetti. I would even eat it plain if I had to. I love it that much.
5. Everybody who knows me knows I L-O-V-E iced tea. Ice to the top. Two or three lemons depending on the cup size. Yes, they even know the details!
6. I cry at the thought of something even slightly sad. I would make an excellent actress.
7. I always wanted to be a Boy Scout because they built fires, went camping, tied knots, and fished. That sounded fun. Girl Scouts? Not so much. (Let it be known my troop leader scared me.)
8. My childhood pet lived until he was 17, and I first experienced a pet death when I was 23. It was traumatizing and I wish I never had to go through that again. The reality of life and death sucks.
9. My first dream was to be a doctor, but I knew early on that I could never deal with the "non-doctor" parts and the uncertainty of my daily life.
10. My second dream was to be a teacher, and I rock that ish.
11. I am a perfectionist and would often turn things in late, because I couldn't do something halfway. I wish a teacher would have told me NO early on, but I got away with this all the way through college!
12. I am a huge car snob and had "owned" 5 by the time I was 18. Don't even ask what that number is up to now, almost ten years later.
13. Everybody always says buying a house was the most stressful purchase of their lives. Ours was easier than buying a car. Walk in. Fall in love. Write an offer. Sign some papers. Badaboom badabam. Homeowners. Thanks Brian!
14. I love Stride Cinnamon gum. Good luck finding it. !#%@#
15. I am undeniably in love with The Doctor. No worries; Zac's okay with it.
16. Not only am I a car nerd, but I'm a computer nerd too. I can reprogram with the best of them. I tell our tech people what's up.
17. I hate flossing and honestly don't see the point.
18. That being said, my biggest fear is losing my teeth. I nightmare about it.
19. My dream is to be a stay at home mom, cook and clean all day long and garden on pretty days. Just like my mom used to. :)
20. I am happy. I had a rough patch for about a year, but you can ask anybody and the word they will use to describe me is, "happy." I love that.

30 Things in 30 Days... What I Want my Kids to Know About Moi
